The Parish House olive grove has about 200 trees. Most are mature Barnea, with some Manzanillo (necessary for pollinating the Barnea) and some Verdale.

The olives from the larger trees are harvested mechanically, and the others are hand-picked. The olives from all three varieties are cold pressed at The Olive Press in Masterton within 24 hours of harvesting. The oil is bottled at Parish House.

The olive varieties we have give Parish House Olive Oil an intense grassy, peppery flavour - dip some bread into it, or drizzle it liberally over a salad or over freshly roasted vegetables! Bottles should be stored in a cool, dark place. Once a bottle is opened, it should be used within 10-12 weeks.
